Beware The Direct Sales Person
I am a direct jewelery seller. I love what I do and I try to be as considerate as possible to everyone I encounter. Recently I had a run in with a Mary Kay women who was pushy and in the end screwed me over. I hope that you never have to deal with what I have and give you these savey tips to keep you out of direct sales trouble.
The first is always take your first impression literally. I have dealt with a few direct sales people in my time and if you like them right off then do business with them. If you do not, then back away and be rude if you have to. This is what I should have done.
Make sure you get everything in writing. You should have a copy of your receipt and a copy of the return policy. If your hosting this should be given to you right from the start. If your attending a party make sure the hostess has it and you also get a copy.
If there is a problem try to get things in writing. Also don’t always trust the word of the direct seller as they will do anything to get a sale.
If possible give feedback on the seller to the origination they work for. Most places want to hear both good and bad things about the people they have selling their product.
Remember you don’t have to run from someone in direct sales. It’s a growing form of business and will keep growing. It’s also a great place to get good deals on things from Jewelery to cookware. Not all direct sellers are bad people, just a few seem to be overeager or out for blood.
What Do You Really Need?
With the economy still not doing well you need to figure out what you need and what you don’t need. Of course your need will be different then someone else, but if you decide for yourself then you will end up saving some cash.
Think about what you want and what you have to have to live. The latter is what you need and what will keep you alive and well. You need things like a roof over your head, food, electricity and so on. You don’t need a new HDTV or a wii. That doesn’t mean you can’t buy them eventually, but right now everyone needs to figure out how to save for what they want, not just put it on the good old charge card.
People are losing there homes because they did not budget and save the way they should have, we as Americans spend and spend and spend. It would be okay if we also saved some of that money. I know it’s hard to save when you don’t have much, but if you again hold off on the extras, eventually you will come out on top and be able to save for those extras.
Save Your Family Money
One thing that some people just don’t ever want to think about is dying. We all dread it, we don’t want to and we are not going to think anything about it and you can’t make us. Well really we need to throw that attitude out the window and think about our family that will be left behind to deal with the after effect of our death.
Things like term life insurance are not there to make us feel sad, but to help our family’s pay for the loss. Funerals are not cheep. My father passed away a few years ago and even though we went very cheep it still cost us about $6000. Now because my dad didn’t plan well we have also had to deal with creditors. He did have life insurance, a good things as I was 21 and my sister 23 at the time and we had no money. The problem is even with the small life insurance plan we would not have been able to pay the creditors. So when you do decide to face the inevitable, look at not just what it will cost you, but your debt already and what you may end up with and pick a policy that will cover everything and maybe even give your loved ones a little left over.
Shop Around And Save
One thing that everyone seems to be forgetting is that right now companies want to sell to you and many are willing to make a deal. So unless your looking for programmer jobs or any job in general you should have luck finding what you need.
Take for instance my car search I am on. I don’t have much to spend and I don’t qualify for financing so I have found 3 cars that are just above my price and I’m going to try to talk them down. Right now my plan is either they accept my offer or I walk away. I also have cash so that helps a lot.
Take that same thought and move it into buying a TV, or even food. Many places will work with you to sell you their product just so they don’t have to keep it or toss it out. Do some research and find out what is going out of production, style or what is coming out with a new model. Talk to the sales people about a deal on the old product, they may give you a good one just to get it out of there.
Save On Shipping, Plan Ahead
I have been doing a lot of shipping lately and I have found that if I plan ahead and think about what I am sending and the shipping boxes I am putting it in I can save some money. Most people don’t realize that you sometimes spend more money on the padding you put in a shipping box then it would cost to ship the item wrapped up with no stuffing.
This means that if your shipping you need to get a box that fits the item as closely as possible and use the lightest packing material available, styrofoam. There is even an environmentally friendly version of it so you have no excuse not to think before you ship.
Go Travel Locally
Right now is the best time to take a vacation, even if it’s just for a long weekend you can find some great deals. You don’t have to use a reservation service, like Westgate, but you can if it’s better for you.
Sometimes just finding somewhere you can drive to and stay for one or two nights can really help you relax and get a fresh start on Monday. With summer coming up there are many festivals going on that are right there in your area, you can experience new things and enjoy the area around you.
If you really want to get away, book a flight, rent a car and visit some historical sites in the us, many are free and you can learn a little about your country, something most Americans don’t know much about.
Add Some Fiber To Your Diet With Fiber One
I love fiber because it helps me to fell better, helps control blood sugar and more. So when I saw the Fiber One pancake mix I had to check it out and I’m happy I did. There really is not a huge difference between regular pancake mix and fiber one. It has a great taste and is very filling. I add in blueberries to mine to add some more health benefits, but you could really add anything. My sister even recommended dark chocolate chips for a dessert pancake.
If your interested in trying this product you can print a coupon here and take it in to walmart or another store that takes printed coupons. If you don’t want to do that you can also buy Fiber One on Amazon.com.

Take A Walk Outside
Looking for a cheep way to lose weight? I know I am always looking for one, but have you thought about just going out and takeing a walk? Joining a gym can be very expensive and buying exercise equipment like an elliptical is not only expensive but it takes up space.
Takeing a walk around your town can make you more aware of your surroundings while giving you a great workout. You may also discover some things you didn’t know about where you live, like the new restaurant on 4th street or the bookstore that sells the exact book you have been looking 2 years for. You may also meet someone new and create a new friendship, business contact or even find someone to date if your in that department.
Yes you may spend some extra money here and there at or on your new discoveries, but if you exercise not only your body, but your common sense you should be okay. Most of all remember to have fun.
