Credit and You In a Down Economy

I am young but I have never been stupid, I learned early to keep up with my credit report, even though mine is not the greatest I know it would have been much worse if I didn’t keep track of it. You can save yourself a lot of time and money by checking your credit report at least once a year. The government offers a free credit report or you can either get an online credit report or have one mailed to you. I actually subscribe to a service that allows me to check it once a month. I’m working on paying down debt and I have found this to be very helpful.

A good credit rating can also save you money by getting you the best deals out there, people with good credit get lower interest rates, are offered more for their money and are able to get perks that people with lower scores do not. Even in the down economy companies still offer great incentives to people who have good credit. Now if your like me and don’t, now is the time to fix it as eventually we will be out of this rut and a good credit score will still be very important.
