Are You a College Drop Out?

I found the following graphic interesting, not only because it does make a good point, but because a year or so ago my brother and I had this conversation about how many wealthy people dropped out of college. Of course many went to expensive schools and were very smart, but in general it’s an interesting concept.

If your child is in college or graduating high school this coming year, how does this information make you feel about college? Is it something you must do now to get a good job or do you think it’s only needed to get into certain career areas?

Me? Well, I’m thinking that college can be great, but maybe we need to go back to apprenticeships for most careers. A great example is what I went to school for, interior design, I could have learned all of what I got in college from a designer, gotten experience and been able to get a great job. Right now though I’m struggling to get anything because I have no experience.

Maybe it’s time to rethink our education system and maybe save students and parents a little cash?
