Holiday Gift Ideas: Get Something Unique

December 11th, 2008 by saveyspender

art_box_stash_se_4947464931421_90x90Sometimes people just want something different for a gift, they don’t want a DVD, video game or clothing from a store in the mall. They want something that is cool, new and different. Mary Jane Goods is a great place to find something new and different for that person who has everything and doesn’t want the other stuff.

They have both really cool art and some great clothing ideas for someone looking for something unique. The shirts are for men and women, the art of course is very interesting and really works well in any modern space. I love the wall blocks and I think most young adults and teens will really love getting anything from Mary Jane Goods for a gift. The selection is very small, but it’s new and should grow as more people gain interest.

If you really like it you can also check out their wholesale program if you own a store or know someone who does. That way everyone can get some fun and very different clothing and art.

10 Tips To Get The Best Deals This Holiday Season

December 8th, 2008 by saveyspender

Shopping during the holidays can be a stressful and busy time for most people, because of this many people tend to not pay attention to prices and what they really are charged at a store. If your really looking to save money this year you should take a look at these 10 tips to get the best deals.

10. Compare ads, many stores compete with the same items. Find the cheapest store and get it there.

9. Use meet or beat the price, this involves finding stores that will accept ad prices from other stores. Many do just to get your business.

8. Coupons are your best friend, use them

7. Take a friend with you to help talk you out of buying things you don’t need. Leave the shopper friends at home.

6. Look at the sale racks first, then check out the other items, sometimes you find what you need on sale, sometimes the normal priced items are a better deal. Compare.

5. Look at the price on the tag, not the rack, lazy people love to leave normal priced items on the sales rack, if you like it anyway and can’t find the same item in a normal priced area talk to a manager.

4. Don’t buy anything at the front of the store, if you need something there and know it’s in another part of the store, leave the line and go get it. Items at the register are usually more expensive then the same item in the store.

3. Don’t get a big cart, if the store offers a small cart use it, your mind thinks that a big cart needs to be filled and then you buy more.

2. Remember just because it’s on sale, does not mean a good deal, check out every sale and discount carefully

1. When checking out watch what items scan, say something if it is wrong. Most stores have to give you the item for what it is marked. If it’s an item off a rack say you found it on that rack, many stores will give it to you for that price.

Overall, don’t be afraid to take your time, speak up and get that really good deal.

Holiday Gift Ideas: Rent Books Online

October 29th, 2008 by saveyspender

Do you use netflix or blockbuster online? If you do do you love the ability to pick out movies and have them shipped to your door for a low membership fee. I know I do and have used both services in the past, but now there is another service that is just like these two, but for books! It’s called BookSwim and they have a really good selection of books available for you to rent. Books like the Twilight series, many self improvement books and cookbooks that may come in handy this holiday season. If you sign up for a membership you also have the option of buying the books you rent. A great idea if you just want to check out a book before you buy it.

This also makes a great holiday gift, you can either buy the first month membership for someone or you can get them a BookSwim Gift Card and they can decide what they want to do. The best part is right now if you buy a $50 gift card you get a $5 one free or if you get a $100 gift card you get a $20 one free. So really you could get 2 or more people a great gift. I am thinking about getting it for my little sister, if she doesn’t get a membership first, if she does I’ll just get her a gift card. She loves reading and this would be perfect for her. I’m sure you know someone who loves to read that would appreciate a membership.

Time To Start Christmas Shopping

August 20th, 2008 by saveyspender

Yes I said it, it’s scary, but I use to work in retail and this is the time that they start thinking about Christmas and the shopping season. Right now with the economy I know many people are not going to be spending much at all this Christmas so finding unique gifts at a good price is something everyone is looking for. Today I have an interesting idea and deal for you right now you can get $10 off any 12 month prepaid club sign-up! Code: GMC$10 at gourmet monthly club.

There are many different types of clubs you can choose from like the cheese club where Cheese Club members get 3 different 12 lb. gourmet cheeses monthly. or you can choose from the beer club, the wine club, the cigar club or the flower club where Flower of the Month Club members get a beautiful seasonal bouquet each month.

Monthly clubs like these are a great way to get gifts for an entire family that they can enjoy all year. It’s perfect for business associates or even your sisters family that lives on the other side of the country. They are also great to give to an elderly person who may not be able to get out and get these things. I’m sure grandma would love to get flowers every month and grandpa may love the beer or cheese.
