Golden Flaxseed Review and Giveaway
I received this product from Tropical Traditions to review, all thoughts and opinions are my own unless otherwise stated.
What Golden Flaxseed is:
- Taken from the Tropical Traditions Website
Flax (Linum usitatissimum) is a beautiful blue flowered plant grown on the plains of Central Canada and the North Central United States. Modern research has taken great interest in flaxseed. Study after study confirms that the oil and fiber components of flaxseed have wonderful health benefits.
- Flaxseed has a high ratio of Linolenic (Omega-3) to Linoleic (omega-6) fatty acids. While many other plant seeds contain a higher ratio of omega-6 fats, flaxseed is the one of the few seeds that contains a much higher ratio of the essential omega-3 fats.
- Flaxseed oil is one of the richest sources of OMEGA-3 fatty acid, Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) an ESSENTIAL FATTY ACID (EFA). This fatty acid is considered essential, meaning that your body cannot make it but requires it and so must derive all of it from the diet. The average American diet is lacking in this fat. Supportive but not conclusive research shows that consumption of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. One serving of Organic Whole Flaxseed provides 9 grms of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids.
- Golden Flaxseed is unique in that 48% of its total fat content is omega-3 fatty acids.
- Flaxseed contains very high amounts of DIETARY FIBER, both SOLUBLE and INSOLUBLE. Golden Flaxseed is 28%-35% fiber, 1/3 of which is soluble, and the other 2/3 insoluble. Soluble fiber also plays an important role in maintaining the “good bacteria” in our bowel, like Lactobacillus Acidophilus and Bifidobacteria. Insoluble fiber increases the bulk of stools.
- Flaxseed is an outstanding source of many essential nutrients, including: proteins, carbohydrates, minerals, folate, vitamin B-6, pantothenic acid, magnesium, potassium, iron, thiamine, copper, zinc, calcium and phosphorus.
My Review
Good things come in small packages and that is what golden flaxseed is to me. Something good for you that’s small but satisfying. I have been using the flaxseed for about 2 weeks now and really do enjoy eating it. I have used it as an additive in my oatmeal, yogurt and even used it along with some bread crumbs as a coating for chicken. It added a great flavor to the bread crumbs and even some added crunch.
Though I wouldn’t suggest trying to eat this on it’s own as the flaxseed is very small, I did find myself trying sometimes, so it is possible. It has a buttery flavor that really does seem to hit the spot.

Tropical Traditions Canadian Raw Honey Review and Giveaway
I received this product from Tropical Traditions All thoughts and opinions are my own unless otherwise stated.
Canadian Raw Honey:
(Taken from the tropical Traditions website)
Tropical Traditions Organic Raw Honey comes from the frontier areas of Canada, and is only harvested during a 6-week period in the summer. Tropical Traditions is the exclusive source of this premium organic honey in the U.S. Most commercial honeys available on the market today come from bee farms, where the bees are controlled within a certain area and get their pollen from usually only one kind of flower. Many of the plants that produce these flowers (clover, orange blossom, etc.) are grown with pesticides and fertilizers as well. In addition, almost all honeys on the market are pasteurized in high heat and filtered, removing many of the beneficial nutrients and enzymes.
Tropical Traditions Organic Raw Honey has not been subjected to the heat of processing, only warmed enough to flow (same temperatures the honey would see inside the hive). We select only premium honey that is pure, smooth and creamy, with the consistency of soft margarine at harvest. It contains live yeast and enzymes, because it has not been processed. It also contains pollen because it has not been filtered—merely screened.
My Review:
Honey, most people love it and I am one of those people. It’s a great sweetener and is just yummy on biscuits. When I saw that I could review the Tropical tradition Canadian Raw Honey I had to do it. I am really trying to go natural with most of my food items and being a diabetic sometimes that is hard as you tend to have to spend a lot to be able to get what you need to eat. With this honey a little goes a long way and I love that. I used a dime size amount in my tea and put about a quarter size amount on my biscuits. Both were sweet enough to help my sugar craving, but not sweet enough to cause me to have a huge blood sugar hike.
This honey is really some of the best I have had. It’s not like regular honey it’s more of a spread then the honey you would find in a store, but I like that about it. You need a spoon or a knife for this honey, a squeeze bottle just will not work.

Review:
I love peanut butter and when you add the health benefits of coconut oil then your just looking at something that is really really good. I was very excited to try this coconut peanut butter out, unfortunately I got it frozen so I had to wait a few days before I could use it. Once I was able to use it I found it took a few taste to get use to and I still don’t really like it by itself, now adding it to toast, bread or crackers. I really did like the creaminess of the peanut butter and of course the skin and health benefits.
If you are a lover of coconut you will probably eat all of this peanut butter in one sitting. It taste just like coconut. I not only tried it on bread, but with bananas and in cookies as well. It’s really very good when you use it to bake. Overall I love the product and am looking forward to making some more things with it.
More About the Peanut Butter (taken from the tropical traditions website)
Tropical Traditions Organic Coconut Peanut Butter is made from organic peanuts and organic coconut. Two ingredients: nothing else! No fillers, no binders, no sweeteners, and no preservatives. The peanuts are 100% organic Valencia peanuts grown organically by family farmers in New Mexico and Texas. Grown in the dry climate of the southwestern United States, these peanuts are certified organic and free from aflatoxins. The dried coconut is certified organic coconut meat from the Philippines from coconuts that are grown with no fertilizers or pesticides. This premium dried coconut contains no additives or preservatives, and is not sweetened. Unlike most dried coconut on the market, our dried coconut products are not treated with sulfites to keep them white. Together, these premium organic roasted peanuts and the premium organic dried coconut are ground together to make a delicious and nutritious spread!
Note: In warmer temperatures the oils will separate at the top of the jar. Simply mix them back in. If refrigerated, this product will become hard and difficult to spread. It is recommended to store this product out of the light in a cool place.

Tropical Traditions Coconut Cream Giveaway
I love trying new things and when I was given the chance to try Tropical Traditions Coconut Cream Concentrate I jumped at it. I love making things creamy and since I know coconut oil is very good for you I know the coconut cream would also be good for me and allow me to keep making things creamy.
I’ve had the jar for a little over 2 weeks. With Christmas is was hard to use it as much as I wanted, but I’ve managed to use it in many different things and I love it. I’ve added the cream to my coffee, hot chocolate and to my oat meal. I was really thrilled with the taste of the cream in my oatmeal as it added something extra and made plain oatmeal taste really good. I’ve also used the cream in soup, in some cookies and in a smoothie. Again with great taste results.
There is a downside to the cream, when you get the cream you may have to warm it up and mix the oil back into the cream. There is a great video that shows you how to do this on the Tropical Traditions website, you can check that out here: Prepare your coconut cream.
Like the other Tropical Traditions products I have reviewed I will continue to use this great product. As long as you like the taste of coconut I’m sure you will love it too. How would you like to win a jar of coconut cream?

100 Days Of Christmas Gifts: Tropical Traditions Lip Moisturizer
My lips are always chapped and that is why I think lip moisturizer is a great stocking stuffer and gift for the holidays. It’s winter, it’s cold and the air is dry so everyone could use this.
I received a lip moisturizer from tropical traditions to review and so far I am loving it! The day I got it I had just gotten over being sick and as always my lips were very, very dry and cracked. I put this on and within about 5 minutes or so my lips were moisturized. I also found out that this lip moisturizer stands up to a washing as yesterday I put it though both the wash and dryer and it was still a solid stick. I was thrilled and I’m still using it today.
I tried the cinnamon peppermint flavor, but they have others if your not into those spices. They have orange cinnamon, tea tree oil and unscented if you prefer to not have a scent. Because they come in so many different scents you could actually get a few of them and have them as a nice sized gift for someone at the office or a child. I would like to see them expand on the scents available but that’s just me I like a large selection!
Tropical Traditions Coconut Flakes Review and Giveaway!
Comments Closed
I was very excited when I received another chance to review a product from Tropical Traditions. This time I received a gallon
of coconut flakes. The first thought in my head was to make coconut shrimp with it, but I thought maybe a good dessert would be a better idea and a better review. So today I sat down and made some Chocolate Coconut Peanut Butter Balls, now I did change the recipe a little as I did not have coconut flour and I couldn’t grind my oats so I just used some oats we had in our cupboard and it worked just fine. I also used dark chocolate as that is what I like. Of course if you want to stick to organic items you can buy Organic Dark Chocolate as the tropical traditions website. The recipe was very simple and requires no baking! Something that I loved as we are trying to cut back on our energy use. I wasn’t sure what I would think of these coconut balls when I was done with them, but I really do like them. For me they are a little sweet, but my brother ate four, so that can’t be too bad.
As for the actual coconut itself I like it. It does not have that sweet taste that some coconut flakes have as there is not powdered sugar involved. It’s just simple coconut so you can use it for almost anything. I do plan on using it to make coconut shrimp, and I have found myself just eating it without anything. It would be a great additon to a snack mix or trail mix.
Now I know your wanting to win this great prize, so check out the giveaway rules below!
